Job summary

MedPal, a growing Distance Selling Pharmacy in the UK, is seeking motivated Level 2 Qualified Dispensing Services Assistants to join our team. This full-time, permanent role supports pharmacists in processing prescriptions and ensuring safe, accurate dispensing.

You will dispense under supervision, prepare medicines for home delivery, manage stock, maintain patient records, and respond to enquiries via phone, email, and online platforms.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a pharmacy dispensing role.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Ability to work under daily volume pressure.
• Experience working in a Distance Selling Pharmacy.
• Knowledge of EPS.
• Experience using PMR systems.
• Understanding of NHS pharmacy services and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
• Label, select, and prepare medicines for dispensing and dispatch.
• Process prescription requests and patient orders using pharmacy systems.
• Prepare and package medications for home delivery.
• Manage stock control activities, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.
• Maintain accurate dispensing and patient records.
• Respond professionally to patient enquiries via telephone, email, and online platforms.
• Follow SOPs, GPhC standards, and relevant legislation.
• Help maintain a clean, organised, and compliant dispensary environment.
• Support continuous improvement within the pharmacy team.

Working pattern: Full-Time, Permanent — Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (40 hours per week)

We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented Level 2 Qualified Dispensing Services Assistants to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services.

The Role

As a Dispensing Services Assistant, you will support the efficient processing and dispensing of prescriptions within a regulated distance-selling pharmacy environment, working closely with pharmacists and the wider team to ensure patients receive their medications accurately, safely, and on time.

What You'll Be Doing

• Accurately dispense prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Select, label, and prepare medicines for dispensing and dispatch
• Process prescription requests and patient orders using pharmacy systems
• Prepare and package medications for home delivery
• Manage stock control activities, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
• Maintain accurate dispensing and patient records
• Respond professionally to patient enquiries via telephone, email, and online platforms
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GPhC standards, and relevant legislation
• Help maintain a clean, organised, and compliant dispensary environment
• Support continuous improvement within the pharmacy team

What You'll Bring

• NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent recognised dispensing qualification)
• Previous experience in a pharmacy dispensing role
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team under daily volume pressure
• Competent IT skills and experience using dispensing systems
• Experience working in a Distance Selling Pharmacy
• Knowledge of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
• Experience using Pharmacy Management Record (PMR) systems
• Understanding of NHS pharmacy services and regulations
