Job summary

Boots Opticians in Cambridge is seeking a qualified Dispensing Optician to deliver high-quality patient care, provide expert eyewear advice and support the Optical team in store. You will report to the Store Manager and ensure services comply with regulations.

You will use your GOC registration to dispense medicines, support clinical dispensing, guide customers to the right frames, and help maintain efficient store operations while building trust with customers.

Qualifications

• GOC registration is required.
• Must complete CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support in store for regulated dispensing.
• Inspire and lead the Optical team by sharing knowledge to deliver top service.
• Listen to customer needs and provide expert advice.
• Help customers select eyewear and guide them to the best products.
• Support daily store operations to ensure efficiency and legal compliance.
• Provide specialist knowledge for patients with complex needs.

Job description

As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.

• Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
• Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
• Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
• Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
• Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
• Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.

What you'll need to have (our must-haves)

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
• Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.
