Job summary

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist OT/Physiotherapist (Band 6) for the Integrated Discharge Team at Doncaster Royal Infirmary on a fixed-term contract until March 2028. You will be dual-skilled in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, driving patient flow and delivering care across seven days.

The role includes reducing length of stay and avoiding readmissions, with opportunities to contribute to frailty pathways and discharge-to-assess

Qualifications

• Experience as a Band 5 physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist in a broad range of areas.
• Experience in multidisciplinary teams.
• Evidence of clinical governance, CPD and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment as an autonomous practitioner within the Integrated Discharge Team.
• Support the Team Lead in operational management and service developments.
• Deliver therapy to ED, Frailty Assessment Unit and Acute Medical Unit to avoid admissions and support timely discharge.
• Link with community health providers to meet patients' therapy and social care needs.
