We have an exciting opportunity to join the bank as a Disaster Recovery Senior Analyst. The Senior Analyst will support the Head of Disaster Recovery to drive the vision, direction, and alignment of Santander UK’s Disaster Recovery strategy, ensuring continued service to our customers in the event of the unexpected. Responsibilities include supporting the delivery of the DR strategy, improving DR testing, and managing both on-premise and off-premise infrastructure and services.

The role involves leveraging best practices to optimize agility during digital transformation, supporting service management through governance, KPIs, and metrics, developing global strategies, designing testing events, and collaborating with vendors and technology teams to adopt new technologies and improve contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support and deliver the overall DR strategy across Infrastructure and application teams.
  2. Identify automation, cost-saving, and service quality improvement opportunities.
  3. Assist in developing enterprise technology standards, governance, and performance metrics.
  4. Deliver DR testing for both on-premise and cloud services.
  5. Support the Business Continuity programme.

What you’ll bring:

Essential requirements include:

  1. Accountability for resilience and disaster recovery planning and execution.
  2. Embedding resilience and recovery into systems and processes.
  3. Effective communication with business stakeholders about recovery plans.
  4. Building and maintaining repeatable plans for on/off-premise technology.
  5. Experience with automation frameworks at an enterprise scale.

Preferred skills:

  • Technical background in OS and Database Technologies.
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of the Operational Resilience framework and Important Business Services delivery.
  • Experience in a service-focused organization.
