Job summary

Wirral Council is recruiting a Disabled Rehousing Coordinator to lead strategic rehousing efforts within Housing Services. You will work with the Home Adaptations & Improvement Service and PPP Manager, delivering policies and coordinated services in line with Council guidance.

The role requires experience with rehousing challenges, collaboration with registered providers, and handling a live caseload of vulnerable residents to meet their housing needs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of rehousing challenges and responsibilities of Council & Registered Providers.
  • Experience with Home Adaptations, PPP, Homelessness Prevention and Registered Provider Services.
  • Willing to undergo training to update skills.
  • Ability to manage a live caseload of complex clients and work with partners.

Disabled Rehousing Coordinator

About the role:

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Council's Housing Services. We are looking for a dynamic strategic thinker who is also able to be operationally client focused who is used to working at pace with a focus on delivery to high standards and the ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team. Supporting the home Adaptation & Improvement Manager, Property Pool Plus (PPP) Manager and wider Housing Services Management Team to deliver their Services, namely through leading the Strategic development, co-ordination and facilitation of the required rehousing aspects of Adaptation Services & wider Housing Service’s service delivery in line with relevant Housing Services policies and other relevant Council policies, legislation and Government & LGO guidance.

About the candidate:

You will play a key role in supporting some of the most vulnerable Wirral residents who require rehousing support in connection with disability needs and will work closely with the Council's Home Adaptations & Improvement Service within Housing Services. On a day-to-day basis strategically, you will be required to forge links with numerous key and relevant partners and develop appropriate policy as well as carry a live case load of often complex clients who require support in connection with rehousing to more appropriate properties which will meet their needs. This will require a thorough appraisal of individual circumstances, needs, risks and an understanding of the available routes and solutions to deliver/resolve through, negotiation, partnership working and influencing.

You will need to have a knowledge of rehousing challenges, as well as Council & Registered Providers responsibilities in relation to this and it would be beneficial to have knowledge and understanding of Home Adaptations, PPP, Homelessness Prevention and Registered Provider Servies to support operational & strategic activities and be willing to undergo further training as required to ensure your skills and experience are regularly updated.

The successful candidate will work across inclusive and welcoming Housing Services in an exceptional working environment based in Mallory Building, Birkenhead.
