Job summary

Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager for the Adult Social Care MASH Team on a 6-month fixed-term contract with possible permanency. The role leads a specialist team handling complex reviews, safeguarding enquiries, and high‑risk cases for adults with care needs.

You will supervise practice, ensure quality assessments and support plans, chair safeguarding meetings, and collaborate with partners to improve outcomes while enabling flexible hybrid working

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to join our Adult Social Care MASH Team on a 6-month fixed-term basis, with the possibility of this becoming permanent.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to provide professional leadership, managing a team and specialist support in managing complex reviews, safeguarding enquiries, and high-risk cases involving adults with care and support needs. You will work closely with practitioners to oversee complex casework, quality assure assessments and support plans, chair safeguarding meetings, support Court of Protection work, and promote effective risk management and person‑centred practice.

The role also involves mentoring staff, driving service improvements, developing best practice, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for adults and carers.

About the Candidate:

You will be a qualified and registered Social Worker with substantial experience in Adult Social Care and safeguarding practice. You will have a strong track record of managing complex cases, making sound professional decisions, and supporting practitioners to deliver high‑quality services, and managing a team.

The successful candidate will be an effective leader with excellent communication, analytical and assessment skills. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, risk management, and relevant legislation, together with the ability to build positive relationships across multi‑agency partnerships. A commitment to continuous improvement, professional development, and achieving the best outcomes for adults and carers is essential.
