Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is seeking a qualified Disability Assessor for a role in Hastings. The position involves conducting Work Capability Assessments (WCA) for individuals with long-term health conditions, producing evidence-based reports for the DWP, and working Monday to Friday in Hastings with a mix of office and home working.

You must be a registered healthcare professional (NMC/HCPC) with at least one year of post-registration clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional with NMC/HCPC registration.
• Minimum of one year post-registration clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal clinical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload.
• Experience working with complex health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments with claimants.
• Perform thorough evaluations to determine how a claimant’s disability or health condition affects their work capabilities.
• Assess individuals with a range of physical, mental health, cognitive, and sensory impairments.
• Produce impartial, accurate, and high-quality written reports using a designated IT system.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and assessment criteria.
• Adhere to all professional standards, including Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Data Protection, and Risk Management.

Salary: £42,985
Hours: Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm)
Location: Hastings
Role Summary:
The Disability Assessor conducts Work Capability Assessments (WCA) with individuals with long-term health conditions or disabilities. The role requires producing comprehensive, evidence-based reports for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). The assessor is not responsible for benefit entitlement decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments with claimants,
• Perform thorough evaluations to determine how a claimant’s disability or health condition affects their work capabilities.
• Assess individuals with a range of physical, mental health, cognitive, and sensory impairments.
• Produce impartial, accurate, and high-quality written reports using a designated IT system.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and assessment criteria.
• Adhere to all professional standards, including Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Data Protection, and Risk Management.
