Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Directorate Manager to support the Clinical Director in setting strategic direction and ensuring delivery of financial and performance targets within the Specialist Medicine Directorate.

The role requires leading cost improvement initiatives, governance, staff management and collaboration across clinical units to improve patient access and outcome measures in Oxford.

Responsibilities

• Support the Directorate Manager and Clinical Director in determining strategic direction for the Directorates and identifying future resourcing requirements.
• Ensure Specialist Medicine Directorate delivers national and local access targets and that patients access services in a timely way.
• Monitor and manage expenditure to achieve financial balance and deliver value for money.
• Develop best practice, service modernisation and improvement plans within the Directorate to enhance patient experience.
• Lead governance, risk management and performance reporting across Clinical Units and Directorate.
• Line manage staff, support workforce planning, training and development, and maintain high morale.
