Job summary

TAIT is seeking a Director of Technical Direction, Fixed to lead Fixed Market Technical Directors, shape strategy, and ensure safe, high-quality delivery across projects. This senior role requires broad expertise in automation, rigging, AV, lighting, show control, and related systems, with a strong focus on governance and cross-functional collaboration.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, staffing, and process development to scale TAIT’s fixed installations while maintaining performance

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in engineering, technical theatre, design, construction or related discipline.
• Senior-level experience in technical direction or technical delivery, including leading technical teams.
• Proven track record delivering complex permanent installations or fixed entertainment environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, team development, workload planning, and resourcing of Fixed Technical Direction.
• Represent Innovate within Fixed Market, advising on technical solutions and priorities.
• Shape and evolve the Fixed Technical Direction operating model and engagement points.
• Define and evolve the Technical Direction strategy for fixed work and interfaces with other teams.
• Enforce Technical Direction’s role in TAIT Project Process and cross-market alignment.
• Sponsor standards, process, and training for high-quality, safe delivery.
• Build a workforce and succession plan aligned to market strategy and project complexity.
• Set expectations for direct reports, coaching, and performance development.
