Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE:

Acuity Knowledge Partners is seeking a Director, Sales & Business Development in the EMEA team, based in London. This managerial role leads the Europe Asset Management business development function.

The ideal candidate will have extensive capital markets knowledge, with deep experience in buy-side sectors (asset management, hedge funds, private wealth), and an established industry network. Alternatively, proven success in leading teams selling knowledge process outsourcing services to asset management clients is required.

This quota-carrying role demands experience in managing and motivating high-performance sales teams, with a hands-on approach to pipeline creation and deal closure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage enterprise sales cycles: prospecting, leveraging client relationships, qualifying demand, creating value propositions, negotiating, and closing complex agreements.
  • Set team goals, oversee performance, and drive client retention and new client acquisition.
  • Achieve sales targets by selling to new clients and leveraging existing relationships for high-value services, including Investment Research and Compliance Platform services.
  • Negotiate with senior executives to promote outsourcing and offshoring benefits.
  • Coordinate with offshore and nearshore subject matter experts and marketing teams for comprehensive client coverage.
  • Maintain a proactive quarterly pipeline for European asset management clients.
  • Ensure client satisfaction, protect existing accounts, and foster new relationships.
  • Some travel required.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a leading university.
  • Experience in front-office asset management, investment banking, research, or private equity preferred. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships.
  • Experience pitching to senior asset management clients is highly desirable.
  • Background in outsourcing or high-value consulting services is a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop new business opportunities and engage with senior decision-makers.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Track record in leading sales efforts, proposal development, and closing deals.
  • Creative problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, with attention to detail.
