Job summary

The British Film Institute (BFI) is seeking a dynamic leader to head Open Collections & Commercial Intellectual Property. You will drive a commercial strategy for BFI's IP and National Archive, building licensing partnerships and data-driven products in a digitally-forward, access-minded organisation.

You will guide teams, navigate copyright landscapes, and develop investment propositions to broaden access while sustaining funding and growth across UK screen heritage.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering commercial strategies in cultural organisations.
• Senior leadership experience, leading teams and making high-level decisions.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK copyright law and related international regimes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a BFI-wide commercial strategy to expand access to IP and the National Archive.
• Identify and grow revenue and impact opportunities including licensing and partnerships.
• Develop business cases for investment propositions to increase access to assets.
• Create a unified approach to rights acquisition, licensing and management.
• Align plans with Screen Culture 2033 and diverse funding models.
