Vacancy for Digital Capabilities Engineer (Film) at the British Film Institute

Full-Time

We are looking for a Digital Capabilities Engineer who will help manage the day-to-day aspects of technical support, maintenance, and repair across the range of digital technologies and equipment used in the care, digitisation of, and access to film, video, audio, and paper within the BFI National Archive’s Conservation Centre.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the technical development of digital processes across the Conservation Centre to support collecting, preservation, access, and cultural and commercial use objectives.
  • Provide specialised data networking analysis, troubleshooting, and development, along with coding and programming where necessary to maintain security and sustainability of rapidly changing technologies essential to minimize risk to digital collections and maintain C&I services.
  • Work closely with relevant colleagues across Collections & Information teams to evolve strategies for managing and supporting technology interdependencies, security of networks, and sustainability of complex and commercially unsupported software dependencies.
