We are seeking a Director / Head of Software Engineering to lead, scale, and inspire our growing software engineering organisation. Our products leverage cutting-edge AI and Machine Learning to deliver best-in-class services to a diverse global client base.

As the Director / Head of Engineering, you will:

• Lead and evolve a high-performing engineering function from 30+ to 100+ engineers, across multiple teams and disciplines.
• Own and drive the engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning with business and product objectives.
• Be close enough to the technology to guide architectural decisions and set development direction.
• Define, embed and continuously improve software development best practices, ensuring code quality, reliability, and scalability.
• Champion a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders, influencing at board level and managing expectations with clarity and confidence.
• Develop, mentor, and grow both engineers and engineering managers, building strong career pathways and team capabilities.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience leading engineering teams of 30+ and scaling to 100+ in a fast-paced environment.
• A track record of delivering enterprise-grade, client-facing software products with high performance and reliability.
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML-enabled systems or a proven ability to lead in data-driven product environments.
• Experience working with Video / Audio media products.
• Demonstrable experience implementing and advocating for modern engineering practices, tools, and workflows.
• Hands-on experience or deep understanding of architecture, coding, and software design — close enough to make informed technical decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical topics to a variety of audiences.
