Tri Talent Resourcing Ltd is supporting a fast-growing, investor-backed food manufacturing group to appoint its first group-level procurement leader. This senior role reports to the CEO and CFO and will own procurement across multiple sites, building the function from the ground up to unlock margin as the business scales.

You’ll own end-to-end strategy, consolidate suppliers into group agreements, and lead sourcing across core categories including ingredients, packaging and indirect spend.

Qualifications

• Senior procurement leadership in FMCG or food manufacturing, ideally chilled or short shelf-life
• Background in direct procurement (ingredients and packaging)
• Proven cost savings and commercial impact
• Builder who has created or professionalised a function
• Experience in PE-backed or investor-backed or transforming businesses
• Gravitas to operate at executive level with low-ego, high-pace style

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional procurement role.

In food manufacturing, ingredients and packaging are the biggest cost on the P&L. The business has grown quickly through acquisition, and buying still happens largely at site level. You'll build the procurement function from the ground up and become one of the biggest levers for improving margin as the business scales.

What You'll Be Doing

• Owning and delivering the end-to-end procurement strategy across all sites
• Consolidating a fragmented supplier base into leveraged group agreements
• Leading sourcing across proteins, bakery, dairy, fresh produce, ingredients and packaging, plus indirect spend
• Delivering a board-visible cost-out programme with measurable EBITDA impact in year one
• Putting forward-buying and commodity risk management in place
• Partnering with Finance, Operations, Technical and Commercial at a senior level
• Supporting M&A integration and building a small, high-calibre buying team
