Job summary

Graphcore, a leader in AI compute, invites a seasoned Director to lead the Bristol Post Silicon Validation team. The role focuses on bringing up new silicon rapidly, ensuring quality, reliability, and readiness for production deployment across hardware, firmware, and software interfaces.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, implement data-driven validation, and drive automation to shorten validation cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
• 20+ years in silicon, system, or platform validation, including 10+ years in technical leadership.
• Proven experience leading post-silicon validation and bring-up for complex SoCs (AI, GPU, or CPU).
• Strong understanding of SoC architecture, coherency protocols, power management, and interconnects.
• Expertise in debug tools, DFT infrastructure, and validation automation frameworks.
• Proficient in C/C++, Python, and Linux-based environments; experience with large-scale validation clusters is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop and grow the Post Silicon Validation team in Bristol.
• Play a significant role in the definition, planning and execution of chip bring-up activities.
• Drive cross-domain debug and issue resolution across silicon, firmware, OS, and platform interactions.
• Promote collaboration and shared understanding across design, software, and validation teams.
• Advance automation and scalable validation using emulation, prototyping, and large-scale validation infrastructure.
• Support continuous improvement of validation methods, automation, and analysis.
• Engage with leadership and partners, delivering updates on validation progress, risks and quality indicators.
