Job summary

Turner & Townsend's Energy and natural resources division seeks a Director of Planning to lead planning & scheduling across complex programmes. You will develop detailed project schedules, allocate resources, and ensure on-time delivery while aligning with wider business goals.

You will mentor junior planners, collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage risks, monitor KPIs, and report to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Professional project controls experience specialising in planning & scheduling across the project lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and planning software; able to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or related field.
• Excellent communication and leadership with ability to manage and develop a team.
• Able to obtain BPSS level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning process for projects and initiatives, developing detailed schedules and allocating resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track progress, identify risks, and resolve issues.
• Oversee resource allocation and forecasting to optimise project success.
• Monitor KPIs and prepare reports for senior management on status, risks, and mitigations.
• Identify risks or delays and provide solutions to keep projects on track.
• Provide leadership to junior planners and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
• Assess planning processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Act as main point of contact for stakeholders, keeping them informed of changes.
