Having completed a successful rebranding, Sunnystep is expanding rapidly and seeking a high-performance leader to drive operational efficiency and financial growth.

The Director of Operations & Finance is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for optimizing Sunnystep’s retail operations, supply chain, and financial performance to enable sustainable growth. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, operational excellence, and leadership capabilities to drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strategic expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management

• Oversee end-to-end retail and supply chain operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and seamless customer experience.
• Lead process improvements across inventory management, fulfillment, logistics, and retail operations to enhance profitability.
• Optimize operational workflows, technology adoption, and automation to increase productivity.
• Establish and track KPIs for operational efficiency, ensuring timely execution of key initiatives.
• Ensure Sunnystep Speed – act with urgency, agility, and clarity in operational decision-making.

1. Financial Strategy & Management

• Develop and execute financial strategies to support revenue growth and profitability targets.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to maintain a healthy financial position.
• Ensure robust cost control measures, margin optimization, and capital allocation strategies.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, expansion plans, and risk management.
• Lead financial reporting, compliance, and audits to uphold financial integrity.

1. Business Performance & Growth

• Drive strategic cost efficiencies while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Benchmark against industry best practices to optimize store operations and sales performance.
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team to drive strategic growth initiatives and improve Sunnystep’s scalability.
• Identify opportunities for international expansion, operational scalability, and market penetration.

1. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor operations, finance, and supply chain teams to achieve high performance.
• Foster a culture of Extreme Ownership, empowering teams to take full responsibility for outcomes.
• Implement Radical Honesty by ensuring transparency in financial performance and operational decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with retail, marketing, product, and HR teams to align operational strategies with business goals.

Key Requirements:

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

8+ years of experience in operations, finance, supply chain, or general management, preferably in retail, consumer goods, or e-commerce.

Proven track record in scaling operational and financial functions in a fast-growing company.

Strong understanding of P&L management, cash flow, and financial planning.

Expertise in inventory management, logistics, and cost optimization strategies.

Hands-on experience in process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.

Excellent leadership skills with a bias for action and results-oriented mindset.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience in multi-store retail operations and international expansion.

Background in finance, business analytics, or management consulting.

Knowledge of ERP systems, financial modeling, and supply chain best practices.
