Job description

Director of IT and Business Services

The role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and sits on the Corporate Services SLT, leading IT, Information Management, Estates, Business Continuity, and Security. A key focus will be working collaboratively across FRC to enhance delivery and reset the organisational Technology Strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic leadership, coordination, and planning for the IT and Business Services teams, ensuring their efforts are supported and developed.
  • Own, develop, and deliver the IT Strategy, meeting high standards through effective stakeholder, project, and resource management.
  • Develop a continuous improvement programme to adapt technology services to organisational needs.
  • Lead Estates, Business Services, Business Continuity, and Security to enable optimal organisational operation.
  • Evaluate and test our business continuity plan to ensure operational resilience in security incidents.
  • Utilise security risk management expertise to improve security maturity and resilience, aligning with UK Government’s cyber security strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Government Property Agency to provide flexible property solutions supporting organisational changes.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

  • Experience in operational delivery with multiple stakeholders, with strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience working within relevant security frameworks like the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework, assessing organisational maturity.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and lead professional teams.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing large budgets, focusing on performance and value for money.
  • Project and programme management expertise across estates and IT portfolios.
  • Experience managing estates across various locations with high service standards.
  • Experience interacting with ExCo and Board levels.
  • Ability to prioritise strategic and operational responsibilities effectively.
  • Established networks with technology providers and service vendors.
  • Acting as a key member of the CSD with senior direct reports.
  • Deep analytical, technical, and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Results-driven, solution-focused, and adaptable to change.
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, and relationship management.
  • Ability to respond proactively to regulatory environment changes.

This role requires regular travel to our London office. Candidates should be comfortable commuting as needed.
