We’re looking for a forward-thinking, impactful Deputy Director of Technology to lead our Technology and Facilities teams at a time of exciting digital transformation and organisational change.

As a key member of the Finance and Resources Directorate leadership team, you will drive the delivery of progressive, secure, and high-performing digital services that support our mission and strategic goals. You’ll bring visionary leadership to a multidisciplinary team of around 50 specialists across functions such as IT Systems & Governance, Security, Support & Operations, Business Engagement, Contract & Financial Management, and Facilities.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will:

  • Develop and deliver our technology and security strategy, championing modern, scalable and secure digital services.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of IT infrastructure, ensuring robust governance, performance, and innovation.
  • Shape and embed a customer-first mindset, aligning digital solutions with the Fund’s broader goals.
  • Be accountable for cyber security assurance, ensuring compliance with frameworks
  • Oversee strategic facilities management, aligning estate operations with Government Property Agency standards and national property controls.

You’ll also manage a significant budget (approx. £10m), ensuring cost-effective and impactful investments in people, systems, and services.

Interview Date: 22nd and 23rd July – ideally in person, Birmingham

Location: UK - We have a hybrid approach to working, work pattern and location will be agreed with the successful candidate. The role can be based at any of our UK offices, these are Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Newtown.

  • Experienced forward-thinking leader who is able to develop the professional capabilities of teams to deliver a modern first-class service and user experience.
  • Significant experience at a senior level in IT, and a practiced understanding of the “enabling partner” role IT can play within an organisation.
  • A genuine passion for advancing the IT profession, embracing new ideas, innovative thinker and providing healthy challenge to the established ways of doing things
  • Significant experience of delivering large scale technology and cyber security initiatives that have a demonstrable, customer focussed impact which adds demonstrable value.
  • Experience in leading and managing end-to-end change programmes to create efficiencies and improve working practices.
  • Experience of utilising expert knowledge to drive the strategic direction for technology and ability to maximise benefits from supplier partnership relationships.
  • A strong working knowledge of key IT metrics and budget management.
  • Experience in developing and leading strategies that have an impact across the whole organisation
