Job summary

Abcam, part of the Danaher family, seeks anSenior Enterprise Architect to define and govern the enterprise architecture across the digital estate in Cambridge, UK. You will partner with Product and Engineering to ensure scalable, secure solutions aligned with architectural principles.

You will drive modernization efforts, cloud strategy, and technology lifecycle decisions, while navigating regulatory requirements and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• BSc in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering is required (MSc/MBA preferred).
• 10–15 years of enterprise and solution architecture experience in complex environments.
• Experience modernizing large technology estates and simplifying architectures.
• Expertise in cloud-native architectures, API strategies, data platforms, and integration patterns.
• Direct experience with Oracle Fusion stacks leveraging Mulesoft integrations.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Digital Technology and is part of the Digital Team located in Cambridge, UK and will be an on-site role.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role Potential for occasional travel to one of Abcam’s global offices.

Requirements

• BSc Degree in appropriate technical capability Computer Science, Information systems, or Engineering (MSc /MBA preferred)
• Extensive experience (10–15 years) in enterprise and solution architecture within complex environments.
• Demonstrated success in simplifying and modernizing large technology estates.
• Expertise in cloud-native architectures, API strategies, data platforms, and integration patterns.
• Direct Experience of working on Oracle Fusion stacks leveraging Mulesoft integrations connecting standard and/or bespoke built applications to deliver business critical services.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Background in global, multi‑country corporate organisations, with strong awareness of cross‑cultural norms and collaboration practices.
