Job summary

East Midlands Education Trust (EMET) is recruiting a Director of Insights and Artificial Intelligence to turn vast data into timely decisions and to lead safe, practical AI adoption across the Trust. Based at the EMET HQ in The West Bridgford School, you will travel across Nottinghamshire and nearby counties to support leaders with analytics, forecasting and performance insights.

The role reports directly to the CEO and offers a high-impact remit #{flexible working}.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading data, analytics, business intelligence or digital transformation in a complex organisation.
• Practical understanding of AI and its real applications.
• Ability to turn complex analysis into clear, plain-English insight for non-specialists.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, security and protection, including UK GDPR.
• Credibility to lead change across teams and a commitment to improving opportunities for children.

Responsibilities

• Lead EMET’s data and insight strategy across education, finance, workforce and operations.
• Provide school leaders, the Executive Team and Board with clear, timely intelligence that shows where to act.
• Support curriculum and financial planning with benchmarked analysis for every school.
• Develop and lead the Trust’s AI strategy, identifying where AI can reduce workload and improve teaching, learning and operations, and delivering it safely.
• Set governance, ethics and data protection standards for AI and data use, in line with DfE guidance and UK GDPR.
• Work across Education, Finance, HR, Estates and IT to integrate systems and data as central services grow.
• Build data and AI confidence of leaders and staff across our schools.
