Outline Recruitment is representing a Director in Cost Consultancy (QS) for a hybrid role based in Manchester or Leeds. You will lead the cost consultancy function, oversee a range of commercial and real estate projects, and build client relationships with a view to growth and profitability.

The role combines hands-on delivery with strategic leadership, reporting to Senior Directors, and offers career progression within a flexible, supportive environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Manage and drive Cost Consultancy services across the UK.
Develop and deliver against a business plan for Cost Consultancy.

An excellent opportunity for a Director of Cost Consultancy to become part of the growing team in the North-West. Working from the Manchester or Leeds office with hybrid working, delivering on a wide and varied range of commercial & real estate projects. We would also be interested in hearing from experienced Associate QS who are looking for the next step in their career.

This client has an enviable and national client base including The Crown Estate, Aviva, Legal & General and M&G among others.

Key accountabilities

Manage and drive Cost Consultancy bringing a profile of technical strength and commercial excellence, to complement the existing team, and that established across the UK.
As well as being a hands-on delivery role, you will work with the Cost Consultancy Senior Director to help develop and deliver against a business plan for Cost Consultancy across the business.
Support the management and development of the technical team, to deliver quality cost consultancy services to existing and new clients.
End to end cost consultancy delivery
Achieving performance targets (fee delivery and business development)
Liaise with the Service Hub Leaders across Built Asset, Development and Engineering & Sustainability to align services with strategic goals and performance standards
Network effectively with existing commercial clients and agreed targets.

Performance criteria

Relevant degree equivalent qualification and MRICS
Personable and confident with industry contacts
Hands-on high-quality delivery of technical services, demonstrating expertise in Cost Consultancy
Gain client trust with regard to commercial confidentiality and be a direct contact for instructions.
Demonstrable ability to influence, lead and respond constructively to challenges
Existing cost consultancy client base with potential to generate new work and introductions.
Attain financial targets (2.5 base salary for Directors), and support and manage the performance of others
Engage with the team to win work and deliver profitability
