Job summary

British International Investment is seeking an Investment Director to lead origination, structuring and portfolio management across Africa and South Asia in infrastructure and climate equity. You will manage complex direct equity, funds and co-investments with a focus on development impact and commercial viability.

Qualifications

• Significant direct equity investing experience across Africa and/or South Asia.
• Experience leading transactions from origination to portfolio management.
• Strong valuation, modelling, and structuring skills.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead origination of equity, fund and co-investment opportunities across target geographies.
• Oversee screening, evaluation, negotiation and closing processes.
• Structure terms with investees and co-investors; ensure robust documentation.
• Manage deal teams and engage with internal/external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior colleagues and align team objectives with strategy.
• Support development of the I&C Equity and Funds strategy across geographies.
