Job summary

Rippling is seeking a Director to own the Global Payroll Compliance function, embedding 1–2 Product Compliance experts per premium country and partnering with TaxOps, Support, and Legal to ensure a premium payroll experience across markets. You will shape the operating model, define escalation paths, and drive policy in collaboration with corporate Compliance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in payroll, tax, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading distributed subject-matter experts across multiple countries or jurisdictions.
• Proven ability to operate inside a product and engineering organization, writing specs and reviewing designs.
• Working knowledge of payroll compliance across premium markets (e.g., Canada, UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Singapore, Australia, Germany, France).
• Breadth across several markets is a strong plus.
• Strong systems thinking: build one operating model across countries with different regulatory regimes.
• Comfort with ambiguity as a new leadership layer.
• Excellent stakeholder management across Product, Engineering, TaxOps, Legal, Compliance, and GTM.
• Alignment with leadership principles Go and See; Challenge Each Other Directly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team of Product Compliance leads embedded in each premium GP country and build the career path for this function.
• Own the operating model inside and outside R&D—define what can be decided independently and what requires sign-off.
• Own regulatory monitoring and the global compliance roadmap with clear visibility into gaps and changes.
• Ensure global payroll accuracy through local quality reviews and remediation with local experts.
• Partner across the business as the executive connective layer between Product Compliance and R&D, TaxOps, Support, Implementation, Legal, and GTM.
• Own Help Center content including articles and country guides for a reliable compliance experience.
• Define year-end compliance practices and coordinate end-to-end deliverables across markets.
