Job summary

Planet is seeking a Director of Pre‑Sales, Global Defence & Intelligence to lead worldwide Pre‑Sales Solution Architects. This role focuses on technical sales, account strategy, and building strong relationships within national security, defence and intelligence sectors.

The ideal leader has 10+ years in Defence & Intelligence and deep geospatial, procurement and government programs experience. Remote, UK or Germany based, with office presence 3 days/week if near an office.

Qualifications

8+ years of relevant work experience with 6+ years in supervisory roles.
8+ years of professional experience in Defence & Intelligence.
Active Security Clearance (or eligibility).
Understanding of government defense customers and complex procurement.
Fluency in geospatial system architectures, cloud and secure deployments.

Responsibilities

Build and lead a global team of Pre-Sales Solution Architects.
Support D&I sales teams and partner ecosystems to win defence programs.
Design solutions using remote sensing data to support Military Operations and ISR workflows.
Lead high-impact customer engagements, workshops, pilots, and demos for defense clients.
Coordinate with Global Professional Services, Program Management and Customer Success for delivery.
Provide insights to Product/Marketing to shape the roadmap.
Shape department strategy as part of Global Pre-Sales & Services leadership.
