Job description

Purpose of the role

Financial Crime Transformation Lead - responsible for enhancing an organization's financial crime risk management frameworks, designing technologies for customer onboarding, transaction monitoring, and ongoing client risk management, and ensuring compliance with financial crime regulations.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Target Operating Model for financial crime.
  • Develop and formalize control frameworks and product documentation.
  • Review and challenge operational and financial crime commentary to ensure quality of delivery.
  • Facilitate effective information flow within the organization and with IB.
  • Manage internal information requests from stakeholders, including the business and second line of defense.
  • Support the design, risk management, and oversight of outsourced financial crime controls, considering client experience, cost, and automation opportunities.
  • Drive the IFC program forward as part of the Transformation team.

Director Expectations

  • Manage a business function, contributing to strategic initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead a large team or act as a technical expert, guiding cross-functional collaboration and training.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management and committees.
  • Oversee resourcing, budgeting, and policy development for the sub-function.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Monitor and influence external regulatory and advocacy environments.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of industry practices and external developments.
  • Apply analytical and interpretative skills to complex situations.
  • Make strategic decisions and influence stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Act as a principal contact for key clients and functions.
  • Represent the function and business division externally as a spokesperson.
