The main purpose of the role is to provide both Engineering and Architectural leadership to ensure the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) supports next-generation data capabilities for our Digital platform. This role involves partnering with Data Migration, Cloud architecture & development, and Business teams to develop solutions that enable effective hybrid workloads on-premise and in the cloud, considering data gravity, jurisdiction, and egress.
The EDP comprises platforms, frameworks, and services that provide standard tools for moving, quality assurance, storage, archiving, cataloguing, accessing, manipulating, and consuming data throughout its lifecycle. The goal is to make data easily discoverable and accessible, unlocking business insights via machine learning and traditional analytics.
To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality software solutions, fostering innovation, and collaborating across functions to align technical decisions with business goals.
Manage a business function, contribute to strategic initiatives, and influence policies. Lead or act as a technical expert, guiding organizational projects, training staff, and providing strategic advice. Manage resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation, ensuring regulatory compliance and external stakeholder engagement. Demonstrate extensive industry knowledge and strategic decision-making authority. Act as a principal contact and spokesperson for the function.
