Job Description

The main purpose of the role is to provide both Engineering and Architectural leadership to ensure the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) supports next-generation data capabilities for our Digital platform. This role involves partnering with Data Migration, Cloud architecture & development, and Business teams to develop solutions that enable effective hybrid workloads on-premise and in the cloud, considering data gravity, jurisdiction, and egress.

The EDP comprises platforms, frameworks, and services that provide standard tools for moving, quality assurance, storage, archiving, cataloguing, accessing, manipulating, and consuming data throughout its lifecycle. The goal is to make data easily discoverable and accessible, unlocking business insights via machine learning and traditional analytics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Partner with EDP architecture and development teams to execute the data modernization strategy on the cloud.
2. Manage and deliver the data modernization plan, ensuring optimal placement of data and analytics in the appropriate tech stack.
3. Drive the delivery of capabilities within the EDP platform, focusing on Hybrid Cloud and Event-Based solutions.
4. Communicate designs to the Architecture council, CTO, and CSO organizations.
5. Ensure adherence to bank technical standards and SDLC, with a focus on code quality.
6. Promote Agile methodologies, interactive delivery, and continuous improvement within the team.
7. Provide leadership, encouraging learning of new technologies among team members.

Additional Role: Engineering Team Leadership

To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality software solutions, fostering innovation, and collaborating across functions to align technical decisions with business goals.

Accountabilities

Director Expectations

Manage resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation, ensuring regulatory compliance and external stakeholder engagement. Demonstrate extensive industry knowledge and strategic decision-making authority. Act as a principal contact and spokesperson for the function.
