Job summary

Gleeds is seeking a Director to lead its Midlands Cost Management team based from either Nottingham or Birmingham central offices. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, client relationship management, and delivering profitable cost management services across projects.

You will drive growth, lead teams, and ensure governance, quality, and compliance with Gleeds processes, while briefing employees and developing capability within cost management.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification and extensive cost management experience.
• Deep knowledge of cost estimating and cost planning techniques.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Experience with procurement strategies, tendering, and contracts administration.

Responsibilities

• Formulating and managing strategies to deliver business objectives.
• Identifying new business opportunities and driving growth across the Business Unit.
• Ensuring projects follow Gleeds processes, governance and controls.
• Agreeing fees and charges for services with the Business Unit Manager / Area Chair.
• Agreeing appointments and scope of services before delivery.
• Delivering high quality services and outputs meeting client requirements.
• Managing customer relationships and ensuring a care plan is in place.
• Leading and managing teams, including Associate Directors, and resources.
• Developing and enhancing Gleeds cost management capability.
• Preparing bids for services and managing project profitability.
