The role involves building and leading the Glasgow Business Architecture team, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management. The candidate will develop team capabilities through training and mentoring, and shape the bank's process transformation and automation strategy, engaging with executives and the board. Responsibilities also include overseeing global and local process transformation projects, leading process optimization initiatives, and maintaining stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities include providing expertise in business architecture and process design, expanding team capabilities, supporting organizational process enablement, and ensuring governance and reporting on transformation outcomes.

Purpose of the Role

Support change delivery managers in executing projects successfully, ensuring alignment with controls, governance standards, and organizational strategic objectives.

Accountabilities

• Assist change delivery managers in maintaining compliance with the Barclays Control Framework.
• Develop and implement standardized PMO processes aligned with controls and governance.
• Monitor project performance, track progress, risks, issues, and dependencies, and report to senior management.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Facilitate project governance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and effective risk management.
• Provide change management training to project teams and stakeholders.
• Continuously improve project management practices and implement enhancements.

Director Expectations

• Manage a business function, contributing to strategic initiatives and influencing policy and procedures.
• Lead a large team or sub-function, fostering a performance-oriented culture, or lead organization-wide projects as a technical expert.
• Advise senior management and committees, influencing decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Manage resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for the sub-function.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and monitor external environment influences.
• Maintain industry and sector knowledge, applying interpretative and analytical skills to complex situations.
• Make significant strategic decisions, influence stakeholders, and act as a principal contact for key clients.
