Job summary

Harmony Fire in Chesterfield is seeking a Project Director to lead the Building Fabric Delivery operation from our Chesterfield office, owning the region’s project portfolio and driving delivery performance to the standard our clients expect.

This senior leadership role combines commercial accountability with operational delivery, building and mentoring a high-performing team, and partnering with pre-construction and commercial functions to ensure successful handovers and scalable results.

Qualifications

• Proven track record at director or senior management level delivering building fabric or related construction works at scale.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage P&L, margins and risks across multiple projects.
• Excellent leadership and people development capability.

Responsibilities

• Take full operational and commercial accountability for the Building Fabric Delivery portfolio in Chesterfield — owning P&L, programme performance, quality, client relationships, and team development.
• Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing delivery team — including Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and support staff.
• Oversee the delivery of multiple concurrent building fabric contracts, ensuring on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
• Own client relationships at senior level and ensure an exceptional client experience on every contract.
• Coordinate with pre-construction and commercial teams to ensure smooth handover from bid to delivery.
• Monitor project financials — track costs, manage variations, control margins and mitigate commercial risk.
• Embed a robust quality and compliance framework across all delivery activity.
• Drive continuous improvement and share lessons learned to scale delivery.
• Report delivery performance to Managing Director and senior leadership.
• Represent Harmony externally with clients, consultants and industry bodies.
