JOB TITLE: Director, Africa Agriculture and Trade Investment Fund (“AATIF”)

FUND: Africa Agriculture and Trade Investment Fund (“AATIF”)

MAIN PURPOSE:

The Director will join the Fund Team at Cygnum Capital advising AATIF. The role reports directly to the Fund Lead and aims to foster growth in asset management activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Identifying and approaching investment targets in East and Southern Africa.
• Managing existing investments and portfolio reviews.
• Conducting financial analysis of companies and sectors.
• Handling deal pipeline activities from screening to execution.
• Liaising with third-party transaction participants.
• Supporting fund reporting, marketing, and internal collaboration.

Deal Execution:

• Performing due diligence, structuring, approval processes, and closing investments.

Business Development:

• Supporting regional growth and marketing efforts.
• Engaging with other fund teams and representing Cygnum Capital externally.

Human Capital Management:

• Fostering team spirit and internal communication.

Conduct Rules & Compliance:

• Adhering to FCA conduct rules and maintaining fitness and propriety for the role.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong expertise in agricultural finance, especially debt transactions in East and Southern Africa.
• Existing network within agribusiness and financial institutions.
• Academic background in finance, economics, or related fields.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with willingness to travel.
