Job summary

JPMorganChase in London seeks a Director of Software Engineering to lead a multi-disciplinary team of software, data, and ML engineers building B2B agentic commerce agents and productionizing AI models on the NEO platform.

You will own delivery, people, and technical direction, drive architecture across multi-agent systems, and oversee safety, risk, and governance within production environments.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Track record of building and scaling engineering teams including hiring senior engineers and developing leaders.
• Experience delivering production AI/ML systems, ideally including LLM-based applications or agents.
• Strong understanding of the ML lifecycle in production: data pipelines, training, deployment, monitoring, governance.
• Experience leading use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Proficiency in SDLC and agile methodologies (CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security).
• Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Builds and leads the London engineering team across associate, lead, and senior lead levels with hiring and coaching responsibilities.
• Owns the delivery roadmap for B2B agentic commerce agents from first release through scale-out.
• Sets technical direction for multi-agent architecture, pricing and policy decisions, evaluation, and observability.
• Establishes ML in production: training, testing, promotion, serving, monitoring, retraining.
• Leads model risk, cybersecurity, and control reviews before live deployment and ensures production stability.
• Partners with platform, data, and business teams and contributes reusable components to the platform.
• Drives adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed while ensuring validation standards.
