Job summary

The North Oxford Overseas Centre (NOOC) in Oxford seeks a full-time Director to lead eight staff and oversee housing, finance, maintenance, and resident wellbeing. You will collaborate with the Board of Trustees, attend quarterly meetings, and manage on-call emergencies with occasional evening duties.

Applicants should demonstrate mature leadership, pastoral sensitivity, and experience in general management. A Christian ethos is integral to the role with a non-sponsorship visa policy.

The Trustees are seeking a full-time Director to be responsible for all aspects of the Centre’s operations, leading a staff of eight people which includes an Assistant Director, an Administrator, a Finance Assistant, a Maintenance Manager and Housekeeping team.

You will be responsible for housing management, finance, property maintenance and refurbishment, and the wellbeing of residents. You will work closely with the Board of Trustees, and prepare and attend their evening meetings (usually 4 Board meetings per year). You will supervise out of hours response to emergencies and share in the on call arrangements, and attend occasional evening social activities.

In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, it is an Occupational Requirement that the post-holder should be a committed Christian, upholding and embodying the Christian ethos of NOOC, as a key part of the role is to provide Christian leadership to NOOC. Mature thinking, leadership skills and pastoral sensitivity are essential, as are recent experience of general management and administration and the ability to relate to postgraduates and internationals. Experience in the property/housing or charity sectors would be an advantage.

We offer a salary of £55,000-60,000 per annum, depending on experience, for a full-time position (37.5 hours per week, plus occasional extra unpaid hours as required), plus 10% non‑contributory pension contributions and a holiday allowance from 24 days per year (increasing by 1 day for each year worked, up to a maximum of 27) plus public holidays, and free on‑site parking.
