Job summary

Rexel UK is seeking a Direct Sourcing Assistant to support the Direct Sourcing Lead with supplier engagement, RFQs, samples, and product information across international supply chains.

You will manage purchase orders through production, shipping and delivery, ensuring accurate records and timely communication with internal teams. Hybrid role with weekly head office travel in Birmingham and occasional network travel.

Qualifications

• Supplier coordination, RFQs, quotations, samples and specifications.
• Knowledge of import, shipping, customs, HS codes and landed costs.
• Strong tracking, reporting, record-keeping and document-control skills.
• Effective stakeholder communication, follow-up and escalation of issues.
• Experience in sourcing, buying, supply chain, import/export or purchasing; relevant industry experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Sourcing Lead with direct-sourcing activity and stakeholder engagement.
• Coordinate with overseas suppliers and Group subsidiaries on RFQs, quotations, samples and product information.
• Manage purchase orders from creation through production, shipping and delivery; track commitments and lead times.
• Maintain accurate records for suppliers, products, pricing, sourcing and compliance.
• Maintain product and cost data, including specifications, packaging, origin, weights and dimensions.
• Manage shipping and import documentation, including customs paperwork, HS codes, tariffs and landed costs.
• Monitor shipments and deliveries; escalate delays, shortages, labeling errors and documentation issues.
• Coordinate communications and actions across Sourcing, Commercial, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Product Data, Warehouses and Branches.
