Westonbirt Arboretum - Forestry England is seeking a Direct Production Forester to lead the direct production harvesting programme, ensuring safe, efficient timber operations aligned with our district strategy and environmental commitments.

The post is based at Bank House, Coleford, Gloucestershire, with occasional travel to remote woods to support delivery of the programme. It is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2029, 44 hours per week, with civil service pension and learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

• You will manage the Direct production harvesting program.
• You will ensure timber operations meet industry best practices and health and safety regulations.
• Implement work programmes aligned with the district’s strategic plan for the economy, society, and the environment; collaborate with other teams.
