Job summary

A leading spirits company in the UK is seeking a Brand Advocacy Lead. This role focuses on developing and executing strategies for the Diplomatico brand, requiring extensive bartending experience and strong relationships within the hospitality sector. Candidates should possess exceptional communication and analytical skills, as well as a strong understanding of the UK spirits market. Flexibility for trade engagements across the UK is essential. This position is a maternity leave cover contract for 12 months.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in brand advocacy or ambassadorial roles.

Meaningful Work From Day One

This is an exciting role within the UK Brand Advocacy team, accelerating Brown-Forman UK’s business and brand goals by leading the development and delivery of the Diplomatico Rum brand advocacy programme in the UK. This position requires +80% of time in trade, including evenings, overnight stays and weekends across the UK with a focus on London.

This is a 12 months maternity leave cover contract

What You Can Expect

Core responsibilities:

  • Strengthen and support the growth of Diplomatico by seeding the brand in prestige and influential accounts, raising brand awareness and focusing on the strategic brand pillars.
  • Develop and deliver key advocacy plans and projects in 2026/27 which recruit bars/bartenders who are not yet advocates of Diplomatico and support rate of sale initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation of trade strategies.
  • Host tastings for trade and consumers, delivering immersive Rum training.
  • Prepare competitive assessments and post programme evaluations.
  • Work cross functionally with internal stakeholders and customers as needed to develop drink serves.
Build Strong Relationships
  • Cultivate relationships with key trade leaders, influential bars and bartenders to increase opportunities for the sales teams.
  • Establish effective and trusted business partnerships with a variety of internal stakeholders, including the brand teams, customer marketing and sales teams.
Brand Advocacy
  • Serve as brand spokesperson at key Brand and Cocktail events in the UK
  • Sales support for joint business plans and, inspiration days (on & off)
  • Support brand events & initiatives (social media)
  • Competition judging
Operative Processes
  • Comply with all sales processes and tools
  • Monitoring and complying with administrative activities of the team
  • Effective planning and control of the company's budget and resources
What You Bring to the Table
  • Previous experience in brand advocacy/ambassadorial roles.
  • Extensive background in bartending, mixology and drinks.
  • Strong Spirits category knowledge (particularly Rum)
  • Professional knowledge of the UK On Trade, influential bars and trend leading accounts
  • A strong network within the UK influential hospitality arena (Bars, Hotels & Restaurants)
  • Strong Business Acumen
