Job summary

Nellsar Care Homes Group is seeking a Dining Assistant at Woodstock Care Home in Sittingbourne. The role involves helping residents at mealtimes to ensure a high-quality dining experience, within a supportive team and 35 hours per week.

Salary is £13 per hour with 7.30am-3pm shifts and every other weekend off where applicable. Includes benefits and paid induction under Nellsar policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in care settings or food service is preferred.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meals for residents under the Catering Team.
• Prepare and serve meals in a timely manner.
• Liaise politely with residents, staff and visitors.
• Support food safety requirements as per regulations.
• Maintain refreshments trolley and hydration station.
• Prepare tea trolley and assist residents during tea rounds.

Location : Woodstock Care Home in Sittingbourne, Kent ME10 4HN
Contracted hours : 35 hours (to include – every other weekend free, as applicable), 7.30am - 3pm.

This important and hands-on role requires an enthusiastic and motivated individual to assist our residents at mealtimes and ensure they enjoy a high-quality, comfortable dining experience.

As a Dining Assistant, you will enjoy being part of an exceptionally supportive team, welcoming you into providing outstanding physical, emotional, and social assistance to the people living at Woodstock Care Home.

You will have the opportunity to excel

The Dining Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Under the direction of the Catering Team to assist with meals for the residents.
• Assisting in preparation and serving of all meals, in a timely manner.
• Liaising with care staff, residents, and visitors in a polite and person-centred way.
• Together with the Catering Team, to ensure a high standard of food preparation is maintained and to implement the requirements as set out by the Food Safety Act 1990.
• Ensuring a refreshments trolley is prepared and offered to residents and guests throughout the day.
• Maintaining the hydration station & ensuring it is well stocked.
• Preparing the tea trolley and supporting residents during the tea rounds.
