Reporting to the Digital Trading Manager, the Digital Trading Lead GM (Argos) is responsible for owning and driving the performance and growth of their specific categories across digital channels, ensuring category strategies align with our customer missions.

This role requires confidence, resilience, and sound commercial judgment to prioritize effectively and respond to fast-changing scenarios and opportunities.

As a Digital Trading Lead for GM (Argos), you will shape and execute digital plans, driving growth and improvements in digital metrics. What I am accountable for:

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive digital plan for your categories, integrating it into the overall workload plan within agreed timelines.
  • Driving improvements in digital sales and participation to meet business targets.
  • Utilizing all available tools and insights, including testing and learning, to enhance digital metrics and commercial outcomes.
  • Acting as the main contact for commercial activities, working strategically with Category Planners, Buying Managers, Nectar 360, and key suppliers to prioritize projects and activities.
  • Managing and delivering relevant Commercial and Ecommerce projects across digital platforms.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders—including category teams, suppliers, Customer and Trade Planning, Digital Operations, Content, and Merchandising—to communicate and execute Content Plan activities aimed at sales optimization.
  • Participating in key meetings such as Category SLTs, cascades, away days, and CRMs to share performance updates and shape strategy.
  • Reviewing performance, investment, and strategy with key category suppliers and Nectar 360 media teams.
  • Informing promotional and category planning with data, analytics, and insights.
  • Identifying and acting on trading opportunities and risks promptly.
  • Building strong relationships with insight providers to develop joint business plans that drive KPIs and identify new investment opportunities.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal frameworks.

  • Understanding of overall strategy and milestones, with a proactive approach beyond immediate tasks.
