Senior Digital Project Manager
Contract: 24 months
Location: Porton Down, Salisbury – 3 days per week on site
Rate:£650 - £750 per day Umbrella

Role Overview
My client seeking experienced Senior Digital Project Managers to lead the delivery of complex digital projects, ensuring successful outcomes within agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
You will take ownership of day-to-day project management, governance, stakeholder engagement, resources, budgets, risks and project controls, while working collaboratively across project teams and organisational boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of digital projects from initiation through to completion.
- Develop and maintain project plans, delivery objectives and appropriate project controls.
- Manage projects against agreed time, cost, scope and quality requirements.
- Lead day-to-day project management and provide direction to project teams.
- Develop and coordinate business cases, project documentation and review materials.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts and financial variances.
- Schedule and manage project resources effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify, manage and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies.
- Provide project reporting to sponsors and governance forums.
- Support effective governance and decision-making processes.
- Engage with assurance activities, including gateway reviews where required.
- Manage project change processes and ensure changes are appropriately documented and agreed.
- Provide guidance, support and coaching to project team members.
- Monitor project performance and communicate progress against objectives.
- Manage relationships with strategic suppliers and oversee delivery against contractual requirements.
- Ensure contracted deliverables are delivered to the required time, cost and quality standards.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience delivering digital projects or programmes in a project management environment.
- Experience leading projects through the full delivery lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools and controls.
- Demonstrable experience managing projects to time, cost and quality.
- Experience of people leadership and/or managing project teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong business case and project documentation experience.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Ability to work collaboratively across project and organisational boundaries.
- Professional credibility and confidence to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), or equivalent demonstrable experience leading digital projects/programmes.
- Contract Management Capability Programme (CMCP) Foundation, or willingness to achieve this within the first three months.
Desirable
- APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ).
- APM Registered Project Professional (RPP).
- ITIL qualification or experience.
- Experience managing and implementing process change.
- Knowledge of Agile and/or PRINCE2 methodologies.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Experience working with suppliers and managing contractual delivery.
- Understanding of project management approaches, tools and techniques within complex technical or capability-led environments.

- The role requires 3 days per week on site in Porton Down, Salisbury.
