Job summary

BASE Productions seeks a Digital Media Content Lead to drive youth-led film and digital media projects for the Octavia Foundation. It is a 12-month fixed-term contract focusing on content creation and helping young people aged 14-25 build industry-ready skills.

You will collaborate with the Creative Producer to capture stories, lead production, mentor alumni, and deliver projects from concept to final edit using cinema cameras and editing tools.

Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality video content for youth-led and commissioned projects.
• Lead on practical production delivery, turning creative briefs into engaging visual content.
• Co-facilitate workshops and creative sessions for young people aged 14-25.
• Support young people throughout the filmmaking process, helping them develop technical skills, confidence and industry knowledge.
• Coordinate production logistics including equipment, locations, scheduling and shoot preparation.
• Prepare footage for post-production, including media management, syncing, logging and creating selects.
• Produce and develop edits where required.
• Work closely with the Creative Producer to develop creative concepts and deliver successful projects.
• Capture photography and behind-the-scenes content for marketing, social media and communications.
• Mentor members of our alumni, helping them access opportunities, training and paid creative work.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all participants.
• Contribute ideas that enhance and grow the BASE Productions programme.

We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic Digital Media Content Lead to join BASE Productions for our Octavia Foundation's youth-led film and digital media programme.

This is an exciting 12-month fixed term contract opportunity for an experienced videographer and content creator who is passionate about filmmaking, youth development and using creativity as a tool for social impact.

You'll work with young people aged 14-25, helping them develop industry-relevant skills while contributing to high-quality commissioned projects, films and digital content.

Working alongside our Creative Producer, you'll play a key role in bringing ideas to life, capturing compelling stories and supporting young people through every stage of the production process, from initial concept to the final edit.

What You'll need:

• Demonstrable experience in videography and practical film production.
• Strong experience operating the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K.
• Experience using professional cinema cameras, with experience using the Sony FX9 preferred.
• A solid understanding of camera operation, exposure, focus, frame rates, lenses, composition, lighting and audio recording.
• Experience using professional production equipment including gimbals, tripods, radio microphones and lighting kits.
• Strong working knowledge of video-editing software, with Adobe Premiere Pro Preferred. Applicants experienced in alternatives such as DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or Avid Media Composer are also encouraged to apply.
• The ability to organise footage, sync audio, create sequences and complete edits.

Youth Work & Facilitation Skills

• Experience working directly with young people, ideally aged 14-25.
• Confidence planning and delivering engaging workshops, projects or creative sessions.
• The ability to explain technical concepts in an accessible and inspiring way.
• A commitment to creating inclusive environments where every young person feels supported and valued.
