The Team

The Marketing & BD team at Farrer & Cois responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s marketing strategy, including profile and reputation, marketing communications, and business development. This extends toall aspects of marketing planning, brand management, campaigns, events, CRM, market and client analysis, pitches and tenders, website, content and digital strategy.

The Digital Marketing team is responsible for managing and developing the firm’s marketing technologies to support the firm’s business development goals. This includes overseeing digital marketing channels, such as the firm’s website and e-marketing software, to ensure consistent and effective communication with target audiences. The team also manages the firm’s CRM system, ensuring it is optimised for capturing, analysing, and leveraging client data to enhance client engagement and support strategic decision-making. Additionally, the team is responsible for driving data and analytics initiatives, utilising data-driven insights to refine marketing strategies, measure campaign effectiveness, and inform future marketing and business development efforts.

Scope

The Digital Marketing Manager plays a key role in shaping and delivering the firm’s digital presence. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management and ongoing development of the firm’s website, the implementation of on-site SEO, and the delivery of insight-led digital performance reporting. It will support the planning and delivery of the upcoming website redevelopment and play a key part in ensuring digital activity across the firm aligns with strategic goals and provides a consistently high-quality user experience.

Responsibilities

Website Management & Development

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and ongoing improvement of the firm's website, ensuring it remains accurate, professional, and user-friendly.
  • Lead digital development initiatives in collaboration with our external web agency and internal stakeholders.
  • Play a central role in planning and supporting the upcoming website redevelopment, including testing, optimisation and launch preparation.
  • Ensure the website meets accessibility standards and is continuously refined for best performance.
  • Support the creation and upkeep of microsites or other digital properties as required.

SEO, Analytics & Reporting

  • Take ownership of on-site SEO practices, including metadata, keyword use, and content optimisation to enhance visibility.
  • Design and maintain reporting dashboards using GA4 and Looker Studio to monitor digital performance.
  • Use insight from analytics to recommend changes that improve engagement, structure, and user journeys.
  • Regularly review and report on traffic patterns and site behaviour to help guide marketing decisions.

Digital Strategy, Advertising & Brand Visibility

  • Work with colleagues across marketing and BD to ensure digital activity supports the firm’s broader strategic aims.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of paid digital advertising campaigns across relevant channels.
  • Support the consistent presentation of the firm’s brand and messaging across digital platforms.
  • Ensure key campaigns, thought leadership, and content initiatives are effectively showcased online.

Content Management & UX

  • Manage and improve how content is structured, tagged, and presented on the website.
  • Collaborate with Marcomms and BD teams to ensure web content is engaging, current and performs well.
  • Make recommendations on layout, calls-to-action and overall site experience to enhance effectiveness.
  • Support the use of visual and multimedia content across the site, ensuring quality and consistency.

Collaboration & Internal Engagement

  • Partner with content editors, designers, campaign leads and BD teams to deliver digital priorities.
  • Provide digital guidance and input across projects to help ensure objectives are met.
  • Promote digital best practice within the firm and help embed data-led thinking in content and channel planning.

Project Oversight & Spend Monitoring

  • Coordinate work with digital agencies, ensuring delivery is on time and aligned with priorities
  • Assist with monitoring digital budgets and identifying opportunities to reduce spend or improve efficiency
  • Help ensure platforms and tools are delivering value and continuously reviewed for effectiveness.
Skills and Experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in digital marketing, ideally in a B2B or professional services environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing corporate websites, including CMS (e.g. Optimizely, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of on-site SEO and proven ability to implement optimisation techniques.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using GA4 and Looker Studio to produce and interpret performance data.
  • Confident working with external digital agencies and managing delivery timelines and outputs.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and user experience principles.
  • Experience supporting paid digital campaigns (e.g. display, social or search advertising).
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for digital quality and presentation.
  • General understanding of how social media activity integrates with broader digital strategy.
  • Experience in website User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and the ability to provide concise feedback
  • HTML, CSS desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of data protection principles and how they apply to the use of digital marketing platforms and analytics.

  • Genuine interest in digital marketing and commitment to staying current with trends and technologies.
  • Collaborative and confident working with colleagues across Marcomms, BD and the wider firm.
  • Analytical and insight-driven, with the ability to turn data into clear recommendations.
  • Organised and proactive, with a problem-solving approach.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of digital deliverables.
  • Clear communicator, able to convey digital ideas in plain English to non-specialist colleagues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
Education and Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in marketing, digital media, communications or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and updating corporate websites using a CMS
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing concepts including SEO, web analytics, and content management is essential.
  • Experience with data analysis or reporting platforms (e.g. Looker Studio, GA4) is highly desirable.
