Stevenage with Hybrid Working

At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people.

At the IET you’ll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you’ll grow – professionally and personally – in ways you never thought possible.

We’re also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.

What you'll be doing

As a Digital Marketing Executive, you will play a key role in delivering and optimising our digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms. With a focus on email marketing, social media, digital advertising, content marketing, and web updates, you’ll ensure our digital efforts are aligned with overall campaign objectives and best practices.

You’ll work closely with our Marketing Campaign Managers and Digital Marketing Specialists to execute impactful digital campaigns, monitor performance, and drive engagement. Your ability to analyse data and identify opportunities for optimisation will play a key part in improving campaign effectiveness and return on investment.

If you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy variety in your work, and love collaborating with stakeholders to deliver results, this role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and expand your digital marketing expertise.

What we hope you can bring to the role

We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in digital marketing, particularly across email marketing, organic and paid social media, PPC, and web content management. You’ll bring a data-driven approach, strong organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring digital marketing activities are effective, compliant, and optimised for best performance.

The ideal candidate will have experience using digital marketing tools, be confident in managing multiple projects, and have a passion for staying ahead of digital trends. Your ability to communicate effectively, analyse campaign performance, and collaborate with stakeholders will be essential.

A Little More About The Role

  • Plan, build, and execute targeted email marketing campaigns, ensuring they are well-designed, engaging, and optimised for use (mobile, for example).
  • Manage and schedule organic social media posts, ensuring alignment with platform best practices and analysing performance for optimisation.
  • Assist in setting up and managing pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads and social media.
  • Regularly update and maintain website content using the Umbraco CMS, ensuring accuracy, SEO-friendliness, and a seamless user experience.
  • Monitor and analyse digital marketing performance across email, social media, PPC, and web, providing insights and recommendations to enhance engagement and ROI.
  • Work closely with Marketing Campaign Managers to ensure cohesive messaging and integrated digital campaigns.
  • Assist in conducting A/B tests for digital ads, emails, and landing pages to improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Support budget management for digital campaigns, ensuring activities are cost-effective and deliver strong results.
  • Stay up-to-date with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and digital marketing best practices to ensure compliance and excellence in execution.

A Little More About What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in digital marketing, including email marketing, social media management, PPC, and web content management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign data and make data-driven decisions to optimise performance.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., Upland Adestra, Mailchimp), PPC/social ads management tools (e.g., Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads), social media management tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Hootsuite), and CMS platforms (e.g., Umbraco, WordPress).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in engaging with internal stakeholders and external audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Proactive and eager to learn, with a passion for digital marketing and staying ahead of industry trends.
  • A collaborative mindset, with experience working in cross-functional teams to achieve marketing goals.

We’d love to get to know you
