Contract type: Variable Hours (up to 25 hours) – Fixed Term until September 2025

Location: Remote online delivery

Salary: £33.57 per hour

Study Group Digital Learning delivers a range of student-focused online programmes, and we are seeking passionate English tutors to deliver engaging lessons to diverse students. We currently have vacancies for Digital English tutors to teach English Language and English for Academic Purposes courses of various lengths.

ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Plan effective and inclusive learning programmes that promote equality and engage diversity
  • Design engaging online lessons tailored to individual learning needs using various resources
  • Create and update teaching materials regularly
  • Utilize the VLE effectively to promote student engagement with asynchronous materials
  • Apply learning principles to develop activities meeting curriculum and student needs
  • Employ various methods to assess learning during lessons (formative assessment)
  • Engage with online assessment platforms for assessment, marking, and training
  • Provide timely feedback to help students improve and meet course goals
  • Prepare students for assessments such as exams, coursework, or assignments
  • Participate in standardization and moderation of assessments and student work
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and progress
  • Respond appropriately to issues related to attendance, punctuality, behavior, and engagement
  • Offer additional support through workshops, revision classes, etc.
  • Ensure safeguarding and promote student wellbeing, referring to relevant staff when necessary
  • Comply with SGDL quality assurance processes including observations and evaluations
  • Reflect on and develop personal teaching practices and pursue professional development
  • Operate flexibly to meet the needs of students across different time zones
ABOUT YOU
  • Certificate in teaching English as a Foreign Language (essential)
  • Strong IT skills and confidence (essential)
  • Experience in digital delivery (desirable)
  • Experience teaching English to IELTS bands 4-8 (essential)
  • Current experience in teaching English or English for Academic Purposes (essential)
  • Experience teaching international students, including monolingual groups (essential)
