Job description

Overview
Digital Engagement Worker

Swindon | Home Based | Full Time | 37.5 Hours per Week

What if one conversation could help someone take the first step towards a different future?

Recovery doesn't always begin by walking through a door.

Sometimes it starts with a phone call. A video conversation. A moment when someone feels ready to reach out, explore their options and make a positive change.

At Change Grow Live, we're expanding how people access support through innovative digital services that make help more accessible, flexible and responsive. We're looking for a Digital Engagement Worker to join our Swindon service and play a key role in helping people connect with support in ways that work for them.

Guided by our values of Be Open, Be Compassionate and Be Bold, we're creating opportunities for people to access advice, guidance and support earlier, wherever they are and whenever they're ready to engage.

This is more than a digital support role. It's an opportunity to help shape the future of recovery services while empowering people to build healthier, more positive futures.

The Opportunity

As a Digital Engagement Worker, you'll use technology and human connection to engage people experiencing lower-level drug and alcohol concerns through a programme of structured virtual support.

Through telephone, Microsoft Teams and other digital platforms, you'll create safe and supportive spaces where people feel heard, understood and motivated to take positive steps forward.

Every conversation is an opportunity to help someone recognise their strengths, build confidence and move closer to the goals that matter to them.

You'll deliver assessments, recovery planning, brief interventions, harm reduction advice and ongoing support, tailoring your approach to individual needs and circumstances. You'll use motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches to encourage engagement, promote wellbeing and support lasting change.

Working closely with colleagues across Change Grow Live and local partner organisations, you'll help create seamless pathways between digital and community-based support, ensuring people can access the right help at the right time.

While this is primarily a home-based role, you'll be supporting people across Swindon and may occasionally work from local service locations when required. Knowledge of local services, treatment pathways and wider support networks will help you connect people with opportunities that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

The Details

Location: Home based, supporting people across Swindon, with occasional travel to local service locations as required.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Contract Type: Permanent.

Please note: The role includes some evening and weekend working as part of a rota.

Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who combines warmth with professionalism and empathy with confidence.

You will bring experience of working with people affected by drug and alcohol use, or within related health, wellbeing, social care or community services.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who genuinely believes in people's ability to make positive changes in their lives.

You don't just see circumstances. You see strengths, possibilities and potential.

Career Development and Progression

At Change Grow Live, we're committed to helping our people grow.

Joining our Digital Engagement Service offers a unique opportunity to develop specialist expertise in digital interventions, engagement strategies and modern approaches to recovery support.

Whether you're looking to deepen your practice, broaden your experience across different services or progress into senior practitioner, leadership or specialist roles, we'll support your development through training, coaching, professional qualifications and ongoing learning opportunities.

As digital services continue to evolve across the organisation, you'll have the chance to be part of that journey, helping shape new ways of delivering support while building a rewarding long-term career.

Why Change Grow Live?

This is more than a role. It's an opportunity to help shape what's next.

At Change Grow Live, we're continually evolving how people access support, finding new ways to remove barriers, increase opportunities and create lasting positive change. As digital services continue to grow, you'll be part of a team helping to redefine how support is delivered, making it more accessible, flexible and responsive to individual needs.

We're looking for people who are curious, compassionate and motivated by purpose. People who bring fresh perspectives, embrace new possibilities and are excited by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through the work they do.

When you join us, you'll be trusted to bring your ideas, encouraged to grow and supported to develop a career that's both rewarding and full of opportunity. You'll work alongside talented colleagues who are passionate about what they do and united by a shared commitment to helping people achieve healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives.

Our values of Be Open, Be Compassionate and Be Bold guide how we work, how we support one another and how we continue to evolve as an organisation.

What you'll receive in return

Alongside the opportunity to make a genuine difference every day, you'll benefit from:

  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days with service
  • A paid Wellness Hour each week
  • A generous pension scheme
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Retail, lifestyle and wellbeing discounts
  • Ongoing learning, development and career progression opportunities
  • The chance to be part of an organisation that invests in its people and believes in their potential

Most importantly, you'll join a team that's ambitious about what's possible, supportive of one another and driven by a shared purpose: creating opportunities for people to change, grow and thrive.

Please ensure that when completing your application form and supporting statement, you reflect on the details outlined in the job description. This will help us understand how your skills and experiences align with the requirements of the role.

Our Approach to AI and Applications

AI can be a really helpful tool when putting together your application, and we're happy for you to use it. However, what we're most interested in is you.

We want to understand your experiences, achievements and strengths, so please make sure your application reflects your own story and clearly shows how you meet the essential criteria and the impact you've made in previous roles.

There's no need to write in a particular style. The strongest applications are those that are authentic, specific and clearly demonstrate your skills, experience and potential. We look forward to learning more about you.

Direct applications only — we will not be engaging agencies for this vacancy.

Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK at the time of application. For applicants with time-limited visas, unfortunately, we are unable to support new visa applications or extensions.

We're excited to hear from talented candidates and may close this advert earlier than the advertised closing date if we receive a high volume of applications. We therefore encourage you to apply at the earliest opportunity.

Ready to help shape the future of digital recovery support?

If you're excited by the opportunity to combine compassion, innovation and human connection to help people create lasting positive change, we'd love to hear from you.

Join us and help make support more accessible, more flexible and more responsive, one conversation at a time.
