Job description

As a Digital Developer working within the Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation Product Centre (OTDT PC) at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), you will use your technical expertise to develop and improve digital services that support our vital work.

Working across the full software development lifecycle, you will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support applications and databases used across NHSBT. You will tackle complex technical challenges, work with colleagues to understand their needs, and turn those needs into effective digital solutions. The focus of this role is on cloud technologies. • Work with colleagues to understand requirements, explore opportunities for improvement, and turn business needs into practical digital solutions.
  • Maintain existing applications and ensure changes are supported by appropriate documentation and change controls.
  • Help integrate new digital solutions with existing NHSBT systems, working collaboratively with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Explore emerging tools, technologies, and industry best practice, helping NHSBT make informed use of new approaches.
  • Identify technical constraints, dependencies, and delivery risks, and take appropriate action to support successful delivery.
