Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Digital Delivery Engineer to join our Lower Thames Crossing Project. You will embed digital tools and processes across highways schemes and work with the Digital Transformation team as a subject matter expert.

You will develop relationships with project stakeholders, roll out digital solutions, resolve tool-related queries, and drive the adoption of digital minimum standards across local projects with a relentless focus on Zero Harm. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience with digital tools and processes.
  • Ability to lead training on digital software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative, able to deliver under pressure.
  • Proficient in IT and digital tools.
  • Build effective relationships with project teams and supply chain.
  • Ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

  • Capture and feedback lessons learned on digital tools and implementations.
  • Receive products into service and roll out across schemes.
  • Lead digital implementation of products and processes on projects in the UK.
  • Build relationships with project stakeholders and users.
  • Ensure SME representation in digital initiatives and roll out plans.
  • Track adoption of digital tools and report progress.
  • Develop processes and promote a digital culture across regions and frameworks.

About The Role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Delivery Engineer to join our growing team at our Lower Thames Crossing Project.

As part of the digital transformation team, the digital delivery engineer will help support and facilitate the successful embedment of digital tools and processes across our schemes in Highways.

Work with the wider Digital team to become a subject Matter expert in digital tools and processes.

Develop strong relationships at the project level with stakeholders and users.

Develop a key understanding of digital transformation and delivery.

Support the effective mobilisation of our schemes ensuring our standard digital tools and processes are successfully embedded and crucially supported.

Help to resolve issues and questions with regards to digital tools.

Act as key point of contact for projects for digital tools questions and queries.

What you’ll be doing
  • Capture, document, and feedback lessons learned on the success and failure of digital tools, process and their implementations.
  • Capture additional requirements and feedback to team
  • Receive products into service and ensure their successful roll out across multiple schemes
  • Help lead Digital implementation of products and processes on projects across the UK.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with a range of project stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate SME representation in Digital initiatives
  • Planning in relation to roll out of digital tools onto schemes
  • Ensure best practices and processes are followed with regards to Digital
  • Drive the adoption of established digital minimum expectations into to all local projects
  • Own the deployment of digital tools onto each new local project
  • Track and report on adoption of digital tools
  • Develop processes; implement a digital culture with the use of Digital Technology across the Customers, Regions, sectors, and Frameworks which aligned with Balfour Beatty Built to Last and build a Digital Balfour Beatty
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
  • Enthusiastically and openly sharing guidance and technical expertise whilst ensuring that learning resources are widely available.
  • Own the training and deployment plans for digital tools implementation
Who we’re looking for

The Following Qualities/experience Are Essential

  • Recognised construction industry experience
  • Experience of using digital tools and processes
  • Can Lead the use of Digital Software applications and train others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to deliver in a collaborative manner
  • Work under time pressure
  • Proficiency in IT and digital tools
  • Create effective relationships with the project team, supply chain partners
  • Ability to multitask

The Following Qualities/experience Are Preferred

  • Understanding of Design, Construction, Asset Management Stages in the Digital lifecycle
