Job summary

British Transport Police is seeking a Digital Content Producer to join the Communications and Engagement department. You will create written and visual content for digital and social media, supporting campaigns and driving engagement while protecting BTP's reputation.

You will work with senior managers, plan multi-platform communications, and continuously improve content to reach broader audiences with impact.

Qualifications

  • Experience creating digital content for social media, animation, photography and videography.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud suite including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver informative written and visual content for BTP's digital and social platforms.
  • Support multi-platform, Forcewide communications campaigns and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Horizon scan to improve content and expand reach and engagement.

Job Introduction

Salary: £41,267.45 per annum. An additional £4775.00 per annum will be payable to London-based candidates

Contract Type: 18-month fixed term contract

Location: Can be based at any Hub location - London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Cardiff or Glasgow

Type of Working Arrangement: Blended approach of home and office-working is available

Hours: This is a full-time role (37 hours per week)

The Opportunity

Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for a Digital Content Producer to join the Communications and Engagement department. As a Digital Content Producer, you will support BTP towards achieving our strategic objective by contributing to the delivery of our communications strategy through the creation of innovative written and visual content to drive engagement and enhance and protect BTP's reputation.

What you'll be doing
  • Develop and deliver purposeful and informative written and visual content (including photographs, video, digital, infographics and animation) for BTP's digital and social media platforms.
  • Support the planning and implementation of multi-platform, integrated Forcewide communications campaigns and evaluate their effectiveness to inform future activity.
  • Horizon scan to ensure continuous improvement of BTP's content, drive innovation and adopt best practices to expand audience reach and engagement.
  • Be a trusted Advisor to Senior Managers and the wider Force on how best to use content creation to achieve a desired outcome.
What you'll bring to the team
  • Proven experience in a similar role, involving creating digital content for social media channels, digital animation and graphic design, photography and videography.
  • Substantial experience and skilled in using the following software: Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign and Acrobat as well as AI software to assist in content creation.
  • Excellent photography and photo editing skills
  • Excellent video production and digital animation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the confidence to advise Senior Management and the wider Force and Authority, as well as the ability to confidently challenge and influence decisions when in BTP's best interests.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality content to tight deadlines, whilst handling multiple priorities.
