Job description

Location: WeWork Victoria, London (hybrid role, 2 days a week in office)

Reports to: Senior Digital Producer

About SportsPro

SportsPro is the leading media, intelligence, and events business for the global sports industry. Through our content platforms, podcasts (including the SportsPro Podcast and StreamTime Sports), flagship events (SportsPro Live, SportsPro New York), and premium subscription service SP+, we reach the senior decision-makers shaping the future of sport.

Our audience includes rights holders, broadcasters, federations, brands, and technology companies across every major market. We exist to inform their decisions through authoritative journalism, original research, and access to the industry's most influential voices.

The role

This is a cross-functional role spanning editorial, digital production, social, and commercial content. The Digital Content Executive works across the whole content operation and supports whichever workstream needs help on a given day. One morning might involve writing and publishing a story to the website. The afternoon could be scheduling LinkedIn posts, building a quote card, or subbing a piece of partner content.

The role is designed for someone early in their career who wants exposure to every part of a modern sports media business. You will build skills in editorial production, social media, website publishing, and commercial content, and develop the breadth you need to specialise later.

We also want fresh thinking. You will be close to the audience and the platforms, so we expect you to spot what is working elsewhere and suggest how we could tell our stories differently.

Key responsibilities
  • Write and publish content on the website through the CMS, with correct tagging, formatting, and house style.
  • Originate and pitch content ideas aligned with the SportsPro content strategy.
  • Turn podcast recordings and events into written output and shareable content.
  • Sub-edit editorial, social, and commercial content as required.
  • Support daily social publishing across LinkedIn, Instagram, and WhatsApp, working with the Social Media Executive.
  • Create digital assets such as thumbnails, quote cards, carousels, and simple graphics using Canva or similar tools.
  • Support newsletter scheduling and distribution in coordination with the marketing team.
  • Assist with podcast and event content workflows, including video clips and on-the-day coverage.
  • Work with the Head of Commercial Content to promote and support SP+.
  • Monitor performance across platforms and flag trends, opportunities, or issues to the Head of Digital Production.
  • Provide cover across editorial and digital production workstreams during absences and busy periods.
Requirements
  • Experience of, or a strong interest in, digital content, social media, or publishing.
  • Familiarity with a CMS such as WordPress.
  • Working knowledge of LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube as publishing platforms.
  • Strong copywriting, subbing, and proofreading skills.
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar).
  • Organised, with the ability to switch between tasks and workstreams at pace.
  • Genuine interest in sport and the business of sport.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A willingness to learn and to help wherever the team needs support.
  • Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar).
  • A portfolio, personal project, or student publication that shows your work.
Who we are looking for

You are curious, quick to learn, and happy to turn your hand to anything. You follow sport and the business behind it, and you are always noticing how other publishers, creators, and brands are telling stories. You are happy to be thrown in at the deep end and to share ideas from day one.

What success looks like in the first year
  • Confident, accurate publishing across the website, newsletter, and social channels with minimal oversight.
  • A clear sense of where your strengths lie, discussed openly with your line manager.
  • At least one idea or format you suggested has been tried and adopted by the team.
