Brand Recruitment is partnering on an exclusive role for a Content & Social Media Executive. You will shape what the brand talks about, write copy, produce visuals, film and edit short-form video, and uncover stories from around the business for social channels.
You’ll be a champion of social media internally, energising colleagues to contribute and helping the brand reach audiences with compelling, sustainable storytelling. A portfolio will showcase your ideas.
Challenger brands will never succeed when they're just copying what the rest of the market does, regurgitating the same old proposition and making the same promises. For the new kid on the block to make an impact, they need to do something differently. The company we're partnering with on this exclusive role have done just that and managed to carve themselves (and own) a unique niche in a massively congested market. They've built their brand around a couple of key pillars - sustainability and great customer service - and have reached a stage of their development where they need someone dedicated to capturing and communicating the essence of their brand through social channels.
The Content and Social Media Executive is a newly created role with carte blanche to help push the firm's social engagement to the next level and make it an even stronger customer acquisition channel - along with the ongoing storytelling aspect. The company has nurtured an agile, energetic environment where good ideas are welcomed and people are encouraged to get on with making them happen - so for the right person, that means plenty to work with: an established and growing brand, interesting stories, passionate people and an audience that's ready to hear more from it.
This is definitely not a role for someone who wants to be handed a completed content calendar and a folder marked “approved assets”: you'll be expected to bring ideas with you, learn how to frame them in order to get buy-in across the business and then showcase their success. Working closely with the Head of Marketing and people across the business you'll help shape what the brand talks about, how it talks about it and increasingly have influence into where those conversations happen. You'll create social content, write copy, produce visuals, film and edit short-form video and uncover stories from around the business that deserve an audience. If you're confident presenting on screen then that's certainly another string to your bow that will be useful.
You’ll need to be one of social media’s biggest champions internally. You’ll need the confidence and energy to get people across the business involved - maybe dragging Paul from accounts out to help you with a reel - and explain what makes good social content whilst persuading colleagues to share their stories, opinions, expertise and moments that can bring the brand to life.
We’re looking for someone with ideas. Lots of them. Good ones, bad ones, really awful ones - it doesn’t matter. As long as there are some good ones. Or even better, great ones. You could be fresh out of university, or still relatively early in your marketing career, but you’ll already be creating good content and you’ll have a portfolio that shows us what you can do. You’ll understand social media beyond simply knowing where the buttons are and you’ll have a feel for what makes people stop, watch, read, comment or share and be able to apply that to the environment this business operates in.
Experience with Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads, photography, SEO or website content management would all be useful additions. Above everything else, you’ll be curious, proactive and full of energy. You’ll enjoy finding stories rather than waiting for them to land in your inbox and you’ll be comfortable putting forward an idea, explaining why you think it’ll work and then getting on with making it happen. You’ll be joining a an amazing business with a strong story, an enviable reputation for customer service and ambitious plans for what comes next - and you’ll have a pretty big say in how that story gets told
