Job summary

DigiLabs Technical Support Officer at Loughborough University is a full-time, campus-based role within IT Services. You will support the DigiLabs facilities, ensuring AV, IT and specialist environments deliver an excellent experience for staff, students and visitors.

You will work as part of a dedicated technical team, handling support requests, maintenance and the rollout of new technologies while maintaining high technical standards and a strong customer focus.

IT Services

Full time, open ended, fully campus based

IT Services are looking for a full-time DigiLabs Technical Support Officer to join our Teaching Support team on our East Midlands campus. This role will provide technical support for the University's DigiLabs facilities, ensuring that our AV, IT and specialist technology environments continue to deliver an excellent experience for staff, students and visitors.

You will be working as part of a dedicated technical team supporting DigiLabs spaces and technologies across the University, including advanced audiovisual systems, virtual and augmented reality platforms, robotics technologies and teaching room AV equipment.

We are looking for someone with experience of supporting, installing and maintaining professional AV and IT systems within a customer-focused environment. You will have excellent technical troubleshooting skills, a practical approach to problem solving and the ability to communicate confidently with colleagues and users at all levels.

The role involves responding to support requests, diagnosing and resolving technical faults, installing and commissioning new AV and IT equipment, carrying out planned maintenance and supporting teaching, research and specialist DigiLabs activities. You will also contribute to projects introducing new technologies and services, maintain accurate asset and configuration records, and provide technical advice and guidance to users on the effective use of systems and facilities.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering an excellent customer experience. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, able to prioritise their workload effectively and committed to maintaining high technical standards while supporting innovative learning, teaching and research technologies across the University.

The role will require occasional evening and out-of-hours working to support conferences, events and other University activities.
